Application and Appointment Process
The 2026 JH Accountability Board Application is now open.
Key Steps in the Appointment Process
- October 10, 2025 – The application period opens, and applications are posted online and shared with JHU community of neighbors, students, faculty, and staff.
- October 24, 2025 – Deadline to apply for the Board; Nominating Committee begins review and evaluation of applications.
- November 2025 – New Board members are nominated by university leadership and announced.
- January 2026– University leadership sends a list of university-nominated Accountability Board members to the Maryland State Senate for consideration and confirmation.
- 2026 Legislative Session – Maryland State Senate confirmation hearings.
Once all members are appointed and confirmed, the new Accountability Board term will begin on June 1, 2026.
