Clery & Crime Data

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, more commonly known as the “Clery Act,” requires JHU, like all educational institutions, to provide current and prospective students, their families, and current and prospective faculty and staff with information about campus safety.

Schools must quickly warn people about serious threats and provide emergency alerts for significant health or safety issues. They must also keep a public log of campus crimes and a fire log for on-campus housing.

The Clery Act does not violate FERPA. Those who report crimes or help with compliance are protected from retaliation.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (commonly known as the Clery Act, or CSA), the annual report provides important information regarding campus safety, related policies, resources, and three years worth of crime statistics.
